Small, multi-stemmed, suckering shrub. Foliage is a handsome, lustrous dark green, turning red to purple in the fall. Blooms in late spring with small white flowers, followed by heavy set of plump black berries that persist into winter. Spreads slowly, but is a good ornamental for the traditional garden.
