Spreading, upright arching deciduous shrub. Blooms in summer with crinkled pink flowers. Foliage emerges with a slightly pink cast, matures to a dark green, before turning bright orange-red to dark red in the fall. Bark exfoliates with age. Plant in a protected spot; only hard to zone 6. May freeze back in severe weather.
