Globose, multistemmed, deciduous shrub. Blooms in summer with medium lavender flowers. Foliage emerges glossy, leathery, and red-tinged, maturing to dark green and turning orange-red to dark-red in the fall. Only hardy to zone 6-may freeze back in severe weather.
