Rounded, bushy, deciduous small tree or large shrub. Blooms in early spring with fragrant, cup shaped, deep purple-red flowers. Foliage is dark green and falls from the tree with minimal color change. Slow to re-establish after transplanting. Keep a generous mulch ring over shallow roots.
