Flowers are pink in the bud, opening to pure white in early May with spicy, almost intoxicating fragrance. Foliage is a lustrous dark green and evergreen in warmer climates but only retaining tip foliage in colder climates. Fruit is red, changing to black but can be sparse and insignificant. Fall color is wine red.
